Lal Bahadur Shastri Biography ?

Lal Bahadur Shastri was an Indian independence activist and politician who served as the 2nd Prime Minister of India from 1964 until his death in 1966. He was a leader of the Indian National Congress party, and a key figure in the Indian independence movement.

Before becoming Prime Minister, Shastri held various government positions such as Minister of Railways, Minister of Home Affairs, and Minister of External Affairs. During his tenure as Prime Minister, he is credited with several notable achievements such as the "Green Revolution" which helped increase food grain production in India. He also led the country during the 1965 India-Pakistan War, and is remembered for the slogan "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan" (Hail the soldier, Hail the farmer).

Shastri was known for his simplicity, integrity, and honesty. He died on January 11, 1966, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, hours after signing the Tashkent Declaration which ended the 1965 war. The cause of his death is still a mystery and has been a topic of speculation.
