Sachin Tendulkar is widely considered to be one of the greatest cricketers of all time. He is a former Indian cricketer and captain, widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. He took up cricket at the age of just 11, and went on to represent India for 24 years, from 1989 to 2013.

Tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973, in Mumbai, India. He was introduced to cricket by his elder brother, and began playing the sport at a young age. He attended Sharadashram Vidyamandir School, where he began to make a name for himself as a prodigy. He was selected to play for the Mumbai cricket team as a teenager, and made his debut for the Indian national team in 1989, at the age of 16.

He was the first player to score more than 30,000 runs in international cricket, and holds the record for the most runs in both Test and One Day International cricket. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 2014 for his contributions to the sport of cricket.
