Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Biography ?

Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed was an Indian politician who served as the 5th President of India from 1974 to 1977. He was a leader of the Indian National Congress and a key figure in the Indian independence movement before becoming President.

Ahmed held various positions in the government of India, such as the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, and the Minister of Power and Steel before becoming President. He was also a Member of Parliament and served as a Member of the Rajya Sabha.

During his tenure as President, Ahmed played an important role in the consolidation of India's democratic institutions and in the country's development. He also played a significant role in the promotion of education and is credited with the establishment of several institutions of higher learning.

Ahmed was the first president of India to have died in office. He died on February 11, 1977, due to a cardiac arrest.
