Dr. S. Jaishankar is an Indian diplomat and politician. He is currently serving as the Minister of External Affairs in the Government of India. He was born on January 9, 1955 in New Delhi, India. He completed his undergraduate studies in History at St. Stephen's College, Delhi University, and later earned his Master's degree in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. He has served as India's Ambassador to the United States, China, and the Czech Republic, and as the High Commissioner to Singapore. In January 2019, he was appointed as the Foreign Secretary of India, the top-most position in Indian Foreign Service.
