Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a constitutional body in India that is responsible for recruiting and selecting candidates for various positions in the All India Services, Central Services, and other posts under the Government of India. The organization conducts various recruitment examinations for different posts and positions, such as the Civil Services Examination (CSE), Indian Forest Service Examination (IFoS), Engineering Services Examination (ESE), and Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS).

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is considered as one of the most competitive and prestigious examinations in India, which is conducted annually to recruit candidates for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), among other All India Services and Group A & B of Central Services.

The UPSC selection process typically includes a written examination, which may be followed by a personality test/interview round. The written examination is usually divided into two or three stages, a preliminary examination, main examination and in some cases a personality test. The UPSC's website is the main source of information for candidates, including exam schedule, application process, and eligibility criteria.
