Rahul Gandhi is a Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress party, one of the two major political parties in India. He is the former President of the Indian National Congress and served as Member of Parliament for Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, India. He is also the member of the Nehru-Gandhi family, which has been involved in Indian politics for several generations.

Rahul Gandhi was born in Delhi, India on June 19, 1970, to Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India from 1984 to 1989, and Sonia Gandhi is a former President of the Indian National Congress and currently serves as the leader of the party in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian parliament.

Rahul Gandhi received his early education in India, and later studied abroad, earning a M.Phil. from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1995. After completing his education, Rahul Gandhi returned to India and began working on various social and economic development issues, particularly in the area of rural development.

In 2004, Rahul Gandhi was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time, representing the constituency of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. He was re-elected to the Lok Sabha in 2009 and 2014, and was appointed as the General Secretary of the Indian National Congress in 2007. In 2013, he was appointed as the Vice President of the Indian National Congress and has been serving in that position since then.

In 2017, he was elected as Congress President, succeeding his mother Sonia Gandhi. Under his leadership, Congress won several state elections and improved its performance in Lok Sabha elections of 2019. However, he resigned as Congress President after the party's defeat in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Rahul Gandhi is known for his vocal criticism of the government on various issues, particularly on issues related to corruption, economic development, and social justice. Although Rahul Gandhi have not have any significant success in last general elections, he still considered a prominent face of Indian National Congress and plays active role in Indian politics.
