Priyanka Chopra is an Indian actress, singer, and former Miss World. She was born on July 18, 1982 in Jamshedpur, India. Chopra's father was a doctor in the Indian Army, and her family lived in several different cities throughout India during her childhood.

Chopra began her career in the entertainment industry as a model, winning the Miss India pageant in 2000 and later the Miss World pageant in the same year.

After winning Miss World, Chopra began to pursue an acting career. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film "Thamizhan" in 2002, and her Bollywood debut in the 2003 film "The Hero: Love Story of a Spy."

Over the next several years, Chopra appeared in a number of successful Bollywood films, such as "Andaaz" (2003), "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" (2004), "Don" (2006), "Fashion" (2008), for which she won a National Film Award for Best Actress and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress, among many others.
