Bumrah was born on December 6, 1993 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. He began playing cricket at a young age, and was encouraged by his father to pursue the sport. He began playing cricket at the local cricket academy in Ahmedabad and quickly progressed through the ranks.
In 2013, Bumrah made his debut for the Gujarat cricket team in the domestic T20 tournament, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He impressed with his performances and was soon signed by the Mumbai Indians franchise for the 2013 IPL season.
In January 2016, he made his international debut for India in an ODI match against Australia. He immediately made an impact and was soon included in India's T20I and Test teams. He has since become an integral part of India's fast bowling attack, known for his accurate yorkers and his ability to bowl well under pressure.
Bumrah has received several awards and accolades throughout his career, including the prestigious ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2017, and the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World in 2019. He was also listed among the top 20 most valuable players in the world by the Forbes.
In his debut series of Test cricket, he took 9 wickets against South Africa and he holds the record of taking the most wickets by an Indian pacer on debut series. On the back of his consistent performances, he became the number one bowler in ICC ODI ranking.
Bumrah has been considered as one of the most consistent performer of Indian cricket team and having a huge potential to be the best in the world. He's still young, and has a lot of cricket left to play in his career.
