How to make Mixed Veg Pakora

Here is a simple recipe for making mixed veg pakora:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp ajwain (carom) seeds
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped spinach
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped potatoes
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cauliflower
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped eggplant
  • Oil for deep-frying

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the gram flour, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, ajwain seeds, and salt.
  2. Slowly add water to the mixture and stir until it forms a thick, smooth batter.
  3. Add the chopped vegetables to the batter and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or a large pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Using your hands or a spoon, drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil. Fry the pakoras until they are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the pakoras with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve the mixed veg pakoras hot with chutney or tamarind sauce.
