Hierarchy

A hierarchy is a system of ranking or organizing things in order of importance or authority. In organizations, a hierarchy refers to the levels of management or leadership, with each level having a defined set of roles and responsibilities. The top level of the hierarchy is typically the CEO or President, followed by upper management, middle management, and lower management or front-line employees.

Hierarchies in organizations are often represented visually using an organizational chart, which shows the different levels of management and the reporting relationships between them. This type of structure is often called a top-down or pyramid structure, with the highest level of management at the top and the lowest level at the bottom.
