Asahyog Andolan History

The Non-cooperation movement, also known as the Non-Violent Resistance Movement or the Khilafat Movement was a significant event in Indian history that began in 1920. It was launched by Mahatma Gandhi as a response to the British government's oppressive policies, particularly the 1919 Rowlatt Act and the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The movement sought to boycott British goods, institutions and government services and was based on the principles of non-violence and civil disobedience.

The Non-Cooperation Movement was a significant event in Indian history as it brought together various groups and communities from different regions and religions under the common goal of Indian independence from British colonial rule. The movement was a major success, with a large number of Indians participating in it. However, in 1922, after a mob set fire to a police station in Chauri Chaura, Gandhi called off the movement, believing that the non-violence principle was not being followed.
